Bret Lewis Bret Lewis, a veteran sportscaster in the Los Angeles market, is co-host of CBS 2's "Sports Central" and weekend sports anchor of CBS 2 News. Bret has covered just about every major sporting event in the 10 years he has been in Southern California, including the World Series, the NBA playoffs and the 1988 Olympics. Bret also is the morning sports anchor on CBS sister radio station, KFWB-AM 980. He also hosted "Lakers Line" on KLAC radio during the basketball season and is one of the panelists on "Sports Round Table" on Fox Sports West 2. Bret also is co-host of "Championship Rugby" on Fox Sports Net and the International Channel. Last fall, he was the radio play-by-play voice for Cal State Northridge Football. His other work in front of the camera includes an appearance in the Robert DeNiro film, "The Fan" and "Baseketball". He also was a producer-writer for "In Person With Maureen O'Boyle", a New York-based talk show. Bret is a native of Dallas, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin. While there, he became a radio personality and television weatherman while majoring in communications with a minor in journalism. His first job out of college was at former CBS affiliate KDFW-TV. He then moved to Miami where he was the lead sports anchor and sports director for the NBC affiliate. Bret enjoys working out and karaoke singing, indulging a secret ambition to be a famous country and western singer. In addition, for the past five years, he has volunteered to help the homeless by working with the "Children of the Shepherd" ministry in Hollywood.
