Steve Hartman Steve Hartman is a well-known Los Angeles sports radio personality who also is a sports reporter with CBS 2 's "Sports Central", a weekend show covering local and national athletic events, including NFL football now broadcast on CBS 2 . Widely recognized as the "King of Sports Trivia", Hartman co-hosts the popular "Loose Cannons Talk" KTRA Sports 690 AM, the top-rated radio station in Southern California. During his eight years with XTRA, Steve has covered many major sporting events, including six Super Bowls, and six Final Four NCAA basketball championships. He also served as radio color analyst for UCLA's football broadcasts for which he earned a 1996 nomination as "Best Radio Analyst". Steve has been a color analyst for the past three years for ESPN's coverage of the Toyota "Pro Celebrity" race at the Long Beach Grand Prix. He also hosted several shows, including a weekly highlight program for the Continental Basketball Association and "Bill Walsh on College Football Show" for Sports Channel America. In addition, he has been a regular columnist for several sports publications, including "LA Sports Profiles Magazine" and "Big Blue Review", a national Dodgers publication. Steve's many sports travels also include working as an assistant producer for KABC's "Talk Radio" where he covered the 1982 NBA Finals and the 1983 National League Championship Series. From 1984-1988, he headed the media relations and publications department for the former Los Angeles Raiders. In 1989, Steve became a sports talk show host at KFOX in Los Angeles where he worked with veteran sportscaster Bud Furillo to create a program that National Sports Daily called "one of the best". Steve is a Los Angeles native and graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in history. While in college, he was an award-winning sports editors and wrote for the school's newspaper, earning West Coast collegiate honors for his coverage of basketball's 1980's Final Four. For fun, Steve enjoys golf, memorizing mindless trivia and playing with his two young sons.
